Michael is a trial lawyer with over 23 years of experience. Before founding Hoffer Trial Lawyers, Michael was a partner at a national insurance defense firm. Michael also had an active practice with insurance coverage, employment, and civil rights litigation.

At Hoffer Trial Lawyers, Michael continues his practice in all these areas. Michael prides himself in listening to his clients to understand what a “win” is to his clients, so that he can craft a strategy to get them there. Michael also takes the time to help his clients understand the legal process so they can partner with him to get the results they deserve. Michael’s deep understanding of insurance coverage and the insurance claims process ensures that his clients will obtain the best result possible.  Michael is a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA).

Michael grew up in Bismarck, on the windswept plains of North Dakota, and he graduated magna cum laude from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota with a degree in English Literature. He then attended the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens, Georgia. After obtaining his law degree cum laude, Michael had the honor to serve as chambers staff attorney for the Honorable J.L. Edmondson, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

When he’s not working, Michael enjoys spending time with his kids and friends, playing trumpet, increasing his grilling skills, and convincing himself that he is an amateur bartender. Michael also gives back by volunteering in the community, including leadership positions at Shallowford Presbyterian Church, Lakeside High School Orchestra Association, and Lakeside High School Band Association.
